Retail Comparison

Macy’s and Bloomingdale are quite similar when it comes to the type of products that they are selling probably because they are owned by the same company. They sell things that can be seen in a department store or more of the basic things that we need for everyday living and at home just like clothes, beddings, linen, shoes, bags, jewelries, accessories, cooking pans, cooking utensils, and a whole lot more. The only difference is that Bloomingdale sells more high-end labels and are thus more expensive. Both retailers have products and brands that are similar but have different prices. The prices of these products are usually more expensive in Bloomingdale. Target on the other hand is like a one stop shop that sells more than what Macy’s and Bloomingdale have. Aside from the products that you see in a department store, Target sells other things like toys, DVDs, furniture, gadgets, food, beverage, household essentials, and a whole lot more. There are some brands that are available in all three retail websites. Macy’s and Bloomingdale have products that are the same while Target on the other hand, despite carrying the same brand, offer different products that can be seen in the other two websites. For example, Target offers some fragrances from Michael Kors. Macy’s also offers fragrances from Michael Kors. When you compare the perfumes in each website, they are different so you can’t really compare the prices.

If you were to compare the prices of the products in general, Target offers the cheapest ones, Macy’s is in the middle, while Bloomingdale has the most expensive prices. Based on the prices, one can assume that Target’s target market is the general public, Macy’s target market is people in the middle class, and Bloomingdale’s target market is the upper class or people with money. The style of clothing being sold at Macy’s are more comfortable and chic, more classy and stylish for the ones in Bloomingdale, and a bit more casual for the ones at Target.

The products that they sell in the store can also be found on the website so don’t have to worry about not finding the products that you have seen on the store in the website. Most of the products on the website can be bought at discounted prices on top of other offers and promotions which is a great deal especially for the products that are branded. It offers branded items at affordable prices for those people who prefer to have quality products at affordable prices. Most of the products are delivered on time although there have been some complaints regarding the wrong products being shipped and also problems when returning products. The chatbox on the website works fine but the customer service in general especially for the ones who live outside the US is terrible.
